Kohmi Bettei 2017 Vol.10 〜Sing with a piano LIVE
I’m back in Tokyo and already hard at work!
Thanks to the great weather here.
Not too cold, not too hot.
I love this season!
I know it’ll get colder soon,
but I’d like to enjoy the change of seasons.
people around me often ask me,
“Don’t you get jet-lagged?”
I know many people hate jet lag
and it normally takes a whole week or more to get over it.
So today I’m going to tell you how I beat jet lag!
I have been traveling back
and forth all over the globe for a long time.
I wasn’t good at avoiding jet lag at first,
but after trial and error,
I think I have a method.
I stick to two rules.
First: no food.
I skip lunch and dinner
before the flight and don’t eat anything on the plane.
I drink water and that’s it.
And then only after I arrive at the destination,
I learned this from a book and tried it
without knowing it’d actually work.
But it did!
Since then I always stick to this rule.
I guess not using your stomach during the travel resets it.
It’s super important to sleep well
on the first night,
and if you follow this rule,
you can sleep like a baby even right after eating.
What’s great about this is that
I also get to fast for about a day
and I feel awesome every time.
Second rule: start working right away.
I never go home directly
from the airport.
Instead, I go straight to my office as usual
and have meetings,
practice singing, or write songs.
Of course I get sleepy during the meetings,
but I fight it off.
I mean if I go home directly
from the airport and take the day off,
I’d sleep all I want and won’t be able to sleep at night.
The important thing is to start living on local time
as soon as you get there and not sleep during the day.
I hope this was helpful,
and please try it out when you travel next time!
